A S H T H P stands for the Annette Strawder Here To Help Food Pantry. Sister Annette Jackson White Strawder was a lifetime member of Greater Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, a church that has over 128 years of Christian service. She was an active and dedicated member of the General Missionary Society. She was president of the Citywide Junior Missionary Society for many years. Sister Annette Strawder being a faithful and devout Missionary and always seeking ways to show the love of Christ to others had a dream. A project and desire of Sister Strawder was to have a food pantry to give food to needy families in the city. She shared this dream with a few Missionary friends to hear what they thought of it. The dream was to establish a food pantry at the church that would help people in need. With prayer and encouragement she began to inspire others that wanted to help accomplish this mission. Sister Strawder was called from labor to reward in August of 2004.The members of the General Missionary Society of Greater Mt. Zion organized the food pantry. In her memory we named this project after her, Annette Strawder Here To Help Food Pantry – A.S.H.T.H. P. Although the Lord called Sister Strawder home, we know her dream is being accomplished and this mission has become a reality. The A S H T H P has given out hundreds of bags of groceries to needy families in our area and to members of our congregation who are in need.Current Schedule: Saturday, September 28, 2024 10:30am Saturday, October 12, 2024 10:30am Saturday, October 26, 2024 10:30am Saturday, November 9, 2024 10:30am Patrons must come to the church.
